About

Common Problem

After a decade working in Silicon Valley start-ups, we worked for a large, established company. Providing portfolio-level reporting, forecasting resources, and creating "big picture" Gantt charts was highly inefficient.

There was no standard tool for managing individual projects. Some preferred Basecamp, others used Microsoft Project, and some used Excel or Word. There was no desire, no budget and little justification to commit to a one-size-fits-all tool for managing individual projects.

But rolling-up all that project information for weekly status reports or monthly portfolio reviews was a different situation altogether. Trying to coordinate who has the Excel file open now, who blew-up the formatting, did you get my last minute update, etc . . . was completely FUBAR.

Roadmap Vision

We looked around for "the Basecamp of project portfolio management" and found nothing. Before Roadmap, your choices were Excel or expensive and insanely complex applications, and nothing in between.

Roadmap intends to fill that gap with an easy-to-use, affordable and effective tool to manage project portfolios across a range of functional areas, from marketing, operations, sales, IT, finance, etc.

Roadmap Manifesto

  1. If it requires formal training, it’s a failure
  2. If it requires professional services, it’s overkill
  3. If it requires everyone to use the same project management tool, it’s inflexible
We're always looking for talented people who share our vision and support our manifesto. If this is you, let's talk.
